Introduction
HBS was approached by the Royal Exchange Theatre to help and advise over what systems were best to provide to ensure the comfort and practical controls of the heating systems in the theatre especially when the theatre is in production and audiences have to be temperature controlled.
Solution
The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester required replacement of its tired old boilers that were breaking down regularly, and required more replacement parts that was not cost effective to the restricted budgets of theatres. The replacement equipment was installed with minimum interruption to the everyday routine of the theatre.
2 Off Hamworthy Boilers were installed into the plant room at the theatre. The old equipment was drained and decommissioned and disposed through controlled waste procedures to ensure that all waste products were undertaken in the interest of the protection to the environment.
The replacement equipment was installed with the minimum interruption to the every day routine and all heating and hot water was restored to the theatre within a deadline timescale.
Results
The theatre is able to control the heating and hot water temperatures with links to the BMS System that controls all the temperatures throughout various areas of the theatre.
